New Every Morning
"They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:23
Jeremiah wrote these words among smoldering ruins. Jerusalem had been destroyed, the temple reduced to ashes, the people carried off into captivity. There was no darker scene. And it was there — at the very bottom of the pit — that he saw the light.
God's mercies are not leftovers from the day before. They don't arrive worn out or running low. Every dawn brings a fresh supply, untouched and undiminished, unfolded over your life like dew on the grass — because God's faithfulness never runs dry, never grows weak, never fails.
This morning, maybe you're carrying the weight of yesterday. Maybe the exhaustion has convinced you that God has nothing new left for you. Don't believe it. Before you even opened your eyes, He had already prepared mercy with your name on it. Receive it. You didn't earn it — and that's exactly why it's called grace.
God doesn't recycle His mercies — He renews them.
