The Weight You Let Go
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." — Colossians 3:13
There are wounds we carry like stones inside our chest. The longer we hold onto them, the heavier they become — and the more they weigh us down. Bitterness promises to protect us, but in reality, it only imprisons us.
Forgiveness is not weakness, nor is it forgetting. It is a courageous decision to release what keeps us chained to the past. When Christ forgave us, He did not wait for us to become worthy. He forgave us first — freely, completely. It is from that love that our own ability to do the same is born.
When you forgive, you are not only freeing the other person — you are freeing yourself. The chains break. Your heart breathes again. What was stealing your peace is restored to you. Forgiveness does not change the past, but it completely transforms your future.
Today, put down the stone. The Lord has already shown you the way.
