Let Everything That Has Breath, Praise!

"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" — Psalm 150:6

The final verse of the book of Psalms is not a gentle invitation — it is a universal proclamation. It does not single out the most talented, the most eloquent, or the most holy. It calls everything that has breath. If you are breathing, you have a reason to praise.

Praise does not come from favorable circumstances, but from the awareness of who gave us the very air we breathe. Every morning your lungs fill with air is a renewed grace, a living testimony to God's faithfulness. The breath you carry is, in itself, a gift that deserves gratitude.

Scripture closes its book of hymns with this sweeping and glorious note because God deserves praise from all of creation — in sanctuaries and on the streets, in suffering and in joy, in silence and out loud. No voice is too small to glorify Him.

As long as you are breathing, you have a purpose: to praise the One who gave you breath.
