Rest Your Soul
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him." — Psalm 62:1
Vacation time is here. Suitcases are packed, plans are set, and the body is ready to slow down. But there is a rest that no beach, no mountain, and no destination can provide on its own: the rest of the soul.
David said, "my soul finds rest in God alone" — not in circumstances, not in the absence of problems, but in His presence. You can be surrounded by outward peace and still carry a restless heart; you can be in the middle of chaos and have a soul that is completely at peace — because true rest does not depend on where you are, but on Who lives within you.
This summer, rest your body. But don't forget to rest your soul as well — in prayer, in the Word, in stillness before God. Only He gives the rest that no journey can ever reach.
